english betty in german version?

hi!

 

is there a way to change the voice of the bitchin´ betty in the german version of black shark to english? or russian?

 

i searched this forum and the web but didnt find anything about it.

 

i think replacing the origin "watch ekran.ogg" would do it, but where i can get the english/russian version of it?

Snarky mode: if you want it in english, why not use the english version? :P

 

Anyway... To be more serious: I don't know if replacing the ogg file works. Seems sensible that it should, but since I only have the english version I cannot test it. (Though it would be hilarious to do some recordings of my own and see if I can hear myself tell me to "lower gear" and all that.) However, there is a risk that the integrity check used as an anti-cheat method would detect the file change and get you booted from multiplay.

 

Problem with getting the english/russian versions would be that all those who have them - like myself - do not have legal right to give it to you. It is part of ED's intellectual property and our license does not grant us the right to disseminate it, even though this case here is pretty harmless. (And before you say "well can't they just turn a blind eye", well, in certain legislatures there's laws in place where you can theoretically lose intellectual property if you do not actively defend it, so often the companies that get accused of being draconian for the smallest thing are just doing what the law requires them to do.)

 

That said, if I get a couple moments free later tonight I think I'll try to replace betty with myself and see if it works.

 

EDIT: Oh, and I've been told that it's Nadia, not Betty. She's a russian lass, you know, even if she speak english or german sometimes. ;)

Ethereal is correct, we cant share files like that - unless you get a explicit permission from ED.

 

Btw, isn't the German version "Bitching Helga"? :D

EDIT: In review of Pilotasso's post, I retract "Bitching Helga".

It clearly must be "Howling Heidi" or "Humping Helga".

Depends. Does she speak german with an accent? If yes, it's still Nadia. If no, then Helga it is. :D

I hears he is also named Rita, I heard this in few movies, when Ru pilots say her that.

i got it from a friend for my birthday...

 

german voices in flightsims allways sound allways to clean in my opinion, and no she has no accent, just boring clean german its definately a helga ;)

 

in the setup menu i can switch between russian and english cockpit language, but this changes only the labels and systems, would be great if this changes the voices in the cockpit too.

 

anyway i dont get it why i have english/russion voices in the missions but my bitchin´ betty is in german :noexpression:

 

in my /sounds/ folder i got two folders one named "EnglishVersion" and one named "GermanVersion" but in both are german voice files, and the Watch EKRAN.ogg is the same german version.

Because missions collect their audio files from the mission file itself, whereas helga is resident in the install natively.
