Incredibly loud AI Corsairs - Can't hear my own engine start

Has anybody else noticed the AI Corsairs are incredibly loud on the ground?  It so bad on the Marianna's cold start mission that when the AI Corsair is taxiing from the other side of the field to take off it is very difficult to tell if my engine has even started.. I can barely hear it.  Just wondering if it's my system or something others have noticed?

Shut the canopy.

Or enable helmet in the audio options.

Or both. 

I don’t know what to tell you. Aircraft are loud.

More seriously, check the „world“ audio gain. Generally speaking the environmental audio gain is pretty high in DCS (also applies to the F2 view e.g.)
