Pepos Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Good morning, It is not possible to taxi the plane seriously. If I compare it with the p-47 or Spitfire it is a disaster. I waited for an update but even after the update the situation is the same. I would like to ask if the manufacturer of this great add-on is considering or working on a fix In its current form, it is not possible to operate the plane on the ground. It is a great shame about this degradation. Thank you Josef
OmasRachE Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Have a look here. They are aware of it and will be or even are working on it, but the water injection and engine seizure issues had a higher priority. Unfortunately they are quite restrained in telling us if its a priority bug and when it well be adressed. Therefore my corsair grounded atm. 2
Etask Posted September 30 Posted September 30 (edited) Unfortunately I stopped flying it as well. Honestly it’s becoming quite annoying, it’s been released for a while now; I understand early access but this thing CANNOT be taxied, bug has been reported several times and the fix is not “high priority” apparently. Makes no sense not being able to taxi an aircraft in a sim like DCS. I really wanted to support the devs but start regretting getting this module so early. Would be nice to have some clear communication whether this issue is actually being worked on and if a fix will be released soon. And next would be nice to get some work done on the flight model. Pepos Posted October 1 Author Posted October 1 Thank you all for your opinion. I will hope that the situation will improve and the manufacturer will fix everything. For now I will uninstall this beautiful plane..
Longiron Posted Saturday at 08:47 PM Posted Saturday at 08:47 PM I think its a wind problem, with high winds the tail wheel twitches badly and you cannot taxi. also the tail wheel seems to have a strong return to center spring that makes diff braking and turning difficult.
NAUNUAUB Posted Sunday at 01:08 AM Posted Sunday at 01:08 AM High winds being 8kts in my case ! From 8kts it becomes impossible to take the aircraft away from the wind...
450Devil Posted Sunday at 11:07 PM Posted Sunday at 11:07 PM Firstly, the Corsair is definitely my favourite DCS warbirds module. Secondly, the inability to taxi in surface winds over 8 knots is really, really frustrating. Attached are short tracks for Spitfire, P47, P51, Mosquito and Corsair taxing in headwinds of 5 knots and 10 knots. The map is Normandy and the airfield is Manston. The Spitfire, P47, P51 and Mosquito have no problem with taxiing and changing direction in both 5 and 10 knot headwinds. The Corsair taxiing ability in 5 knots is OK if somewhat sticky. In 10 knots headwind it is impossible to turn out of wind. Please, please fix this defect. cw4ogden Posted yesterday at 10:21 AM Posted yesterday at 10:21 AM Hard to express how disappointed I am with this module. 80% of it is fantastic. And if it felt like there was a plan to finish the job, I'd retain hope. But at this point I've given up hope. What makes DCS compelling is the modules are the highest fidelity available in the personal simulation market. What keeps me buying modules is knowing what I am buying will be, if not perfect, the best available. At this point the F4U falls so short of that mark it's borderline depressing. It has the dubious honor of being the only DCS module I regret purchasing. I can't think of many things more immersion breaking than being unable to do a 180 degree turn with even the slightest amount of wind. Or more infuriating than being asked to "turn off the wind" for a module that's four months post release. 6
