Xtorris Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Even though there is an option, for Customized Cockpits in the Special -> F-16C options menu, and you CAN select a customized cockpit (if one is installed), it will not load unless the folder is named 'Default'. Another problem, is DCS tends to load the stock textures, on initial startup. Which requires exiting, and then reloading the game. This usually fixes it, but obviously the customized cockpit option is broken. This issue, is also present in the AH-64D, but works correctly, for the A-10C and A-10CII. 1

For the F-16C cockpit liveries to work i use Ovgme to enable/disable the cockpit before launch DCS. No issues on my side. Xtorris Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago I'm sure that way works just fine. The issue is using a cockpit folder not named 'Default'. If it's not named Default, it won't work. Which means creating a custom cockpit with variants, is impossible. 1

That is the point of the thread, to have the custom cockpits in Saved Games, and enabled through the special settings specifically not to have them in the core folders. TheBiggerBass Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago My workaround is to store all cockpit liveries in their seperate folders and thrn copy the required cockpit to the default folder before starting DCS. Not sexy, but it works. I just love pouring a few hundred hours into a cockpit retexture, only to have it hamstrung by something as simple, as a few lines of code. 1

Well, they didn't make a mess.
TheBiggerBass Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Well, I had to do too much files clean up afterwork and/or exceptions to the normal procedures. As a result I decided that I am quicker when doing the mod management manually. It may not work for every one but it works better for me.
