Buzzer1977 Posted Monday at 09:08 PM Posted Monday at 09:08 PM I've got a WinWing SuperTaurus for the Hornet, but i have trouble assigning the fuel dump switch, because there's only TOGGLE and no on/off. When i assign both switch positions to toggle, it will dump fuel at each mission start. 1 AMD Ryzen 9 5950x, MSI MEG x570 Unify, G.Skill 128GB DDR4-3200, MSI RTX3090 Ventus 3x 24GB, Samsung PCIe 4.0 M.2 1TB 980 Pro, Seagate PCIe 4.0 M.2 2TB FireCuda 520, Quest 3
rob10 Posted Monday at 09:25 PM Posted Monday at 09:25 PM The problem with that is that it will automatically shut off when you hit your set BINGO fuel level. In that case your switch is going to get out of sync anyway so it's not going to help your issue.

I question this statement, as far as the sim is concerned (I don't know about the real Hornet). I have created the 2-position command for the fuel dump switch a long time ago. And as I verified today, the switch in the sim does not go to OFF when the fuel quantity goes below bingo level, and the dumping continues. So nothing goes "out of sync. rob10 Posted Tuesday at 01:18 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:18 PM (edited) Haven't used it in a couple of weeks, but if you use the toggle it definitely shuts it off at BINGO (and that is apparently IRL behaviour). When you're using the 2 position command my guess would be you're overriding that. As I understand it, it's like the APU switch that's spring loaded and magnetically held, so it can shut itself off with no pilot interaction. FROM CHUCKS GUIDE: Fuel Dumping continues until: • Fuel Dump Switch is set to OFF, or • BINGO fuel caution display comes on (fuel dumping automatically terminates) • Either engine feed tank fuel drops below the FUEL LO level regardless of total internal fuel quantity Edited Tuesday at 01:27 PM by rob10 2
