Theadler77 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think its a great campaign, but having to buy it bothers me quite a bit when I see golf courses and beach front resorts and modern day vehicles and Humvees. Really ruins it for me. If it were a free campaign then who cares. But for my very hard earned money, I expect quite a bit more effort. Just lazy work.

This is one of the best campaigns for the Huey there is. And why on earth do you expect it to be free? ED didn't pay for the development.Another point is that, whenever there are bugs reported due to updates and changes in DCS, @Reflected scrambles to adapt the errors introduced in the core game with workarounds. Can't remember the Humvees to be honest, can't only remember Willy's, you'll also mostly fly over the jungle, so if you really want to see the golf courses, you want to see them as golf courses. There are no golfers around, only dudes with AKs.This campaign is worth every cent I paid, and I can't wait the get a new rig to replay it.Wait for a sale then. You won't regret it unless you've already made up your mind to have regrets. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1
Reflected Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago "Lazy work?" Dude, you've got to be kidding me...there's about 12 months of full time work in it, not counting the endless hours of keeping it up to date for every patch. Many would argue it's a steal for 12 bucks. You can disagree, of course. The campaign was released 3-4 years before we got the WW2 Marianas map, and I can not and will not "move" it to another one. Why? - A mission cannot be "moved" from one map to another, it's a rebuild from scratch. taking months to set up and test - Nearly none of the important places/ buildings that play a key role in the campaign are present on the WW2 version of the map, take Andersen AFB for example. - Consequently, I'd have to come up with new mission ideas that suit the places present on the WW2 map - Because of this I'd need to re-record thousands of voice overs, redo briefings, kneeboard maps, nearly all visuals - On the plus side I could use the skins, yay. But nothing else. So the effort would be equivalent to making a new campaign from scratch, and if I'd want to do that, I'd just make a new campaign from scratch, rather than calling it a "free update" to an existing product. Also, what's your problem with Humvees? We don't have Vietnam era vehicles in DCS, I can't work with what we don't have. I could use the WW2 jeep, but then it would introduce another payware requirement which would be very unfair to do retroactively. If you want to fly around the WW2 Marianas map, you're more than welcome to play around in the mission editor. I'd definitely purchase a Huey campaign made for that map. 1 Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord

Wait, what?! Humvees?! This is priceless! A true testament to your design and story skills that draw you in real quick. I could've sworn there were Willys larping as MUTTs. I'll be damned!
