External MFD screens colours different/dim. Why?

Hi all.

Have been having trouble with this screen on the left.  I have had on and off trouble with these screens for years.  Even replacing one or both(cant remember.

Left one seems to often have this incorrect colour problem.

With the F16 MFD exported it doesn't show red. With an F18 MFD export it is so dim I can't use it.

I've played with all the settings.  But I have a feeling it is a hardware problem.

Off the top of your head, has anyone seen or know how to rectify?

Thanks

Dim exports has been a problem with some modules for a long time.

It's still the case, at least in F-16C and F/A-18C when it's dark.

Yes, and ED have acknowledged (long ago, many years) that it's an issue but due to the way they do the exports there is no obvious or easy solution for it.  The current work around for too dim is to use Reshade.  It's not perfect, but it's not bad.  The weird colouration would suggest a port or cable issue (would suggest a hardware issue with the display if you hadn't said you've already replaced it).
