Can't attached track file because of size.

1-1 on code 1711 1-2 on code 1712. Simultaneous drops with buddy lase from 1-1 and self lase on 1-2. Both bombs tracked on 1711 laser code.

Second drop only 1-1 lasing and neither guided. Laser on with good symbology. Neither bomb guided. 1-2 seeing 1-1's laser in LST

Hard to tell just based on the screenshots and the description given is a bit confusing due to ambiguity.

 

Saying that 1-2 was self lasing on 1711 when his code is 1712?

Hi please include a track replay, 

also a reminder laser codes can only be changed while on the ground, you need to ensure the laser code on the bomb matches.

Hi, per the original post the track file was too large to upload because of site restrictions. Yes, after looking it up it was procedures error. It's odd that you can change the codes in the UFC in flight even though it does nothing...

For point 1: if you go to your profile on the forum, you can delete previous uploads which may get you enough space to upload a track file (you have a limited uploads storage) in future

For point 2: it actually makes sense that you can change the codes in the UFC "even though it does nothing".  It let's you change them so if you were say buddy lasing, you don't get the "CODE" error on your HUD (seen in one of the pics above) from having a mismatch between your targeting pod and the bomb's you have on.  Or it would allow you to correct (for the same reason) if your bomb codes got changed and didn't automatically update in the plane.  Originally you could change the codes in plane and that effected the bomb.  That was incorrect to IRL as you would need to physically change the code on the bomb with, for example, a screwdriver, which you obviously couldn't do IRL flying through the air.  It got updated in game.  And the current behaviour of being able to change it in the stores page is apparently correct to IRL too.

Would the "CODE" error prevent you from lasing the target or is it just an advisory without consequences?


Note to ED.
It would be nice to have Ai flying in close formation and dropping GBUs on command so we could buddy lase them and use Ai as bomb trucks.

It is only an advisory that the TGP and the weapon don't match in laser code.

Under normal condititions when you load bombs the SMS page numbers get put in for you when the jet gets rearmed. You just have to then match the TGP LTD/R to the weapon you're selecting.

Deleting tracks from your profile as already recommended, is a great idea, but that won't help you when the file size is too large, (MP tracks in general), no matter how much space you still have on your account. Personally I think it is better to put them on another file service in the first place. Google/Onedrive are free if you're only using them for that.

Sure it's "not impossible" but with the current way that trackfiles work it is, which means you'd need to remake the trackfile system.  ED has indicated they'd like to do that but don't have dev's available to do it currently (maybe work going on in the background?).  Just changing the system to kinda make it do what you want is probably almost as much work as just redoing the whole system.  So technically you're right, it's not impossible, but in reality it currently is.

Of course the sky's the limit, but if you search the forums for how the tracks actually work, (they record user input only, not what's happening in the world), and what the initial purpose of the tracks are, (for their internal testing), you will understand that these are not recordings. And a recorder, (pun intended for those that get it ), are actually what us users want. I'm positive we will see a record/replay system that has all the bells and whistles down the line.
