Fanatic Posted Tuesday at 07:38 AM Posted Tuesday at 07:38 AM I've just started back into DCS, 100% clean install and just testing the F16 in VR. I can get into game, load up just a cold and dark quick start. Get to the briefing screen in game and it crashes every time. Log attached if anyone can deciper it? I had been running my headset in Assetto Corsa for many hours so I know it works with the Oasis driver. dcs.log
speed-of-heat Posted Tuesday at 08:03 AM Posted Tuesday at 08:03 AM the only obvious thing to me is the mods, try removing them and then running a DCS slow repair also your page file is quite low try bumping that to 64Gb 1 SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
Fanatic Posted Tuesday at 08:11 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 08:11 AM What mods? It's a clean install, all I installed mod wise was the F16? I'll look at the page file.
speed-of-heat Posted Tuesday at 08:44 AM Posted Tuesday at 08:44 AM (edited) I ran it through DCS logbook analyzer discord and thats what it came back with (fails integrity check) , mods usually means third party unofficial additions to the DCS game folder, though some badly behaved mods in saved games can also screw you around. If you haven't got anything, try a slow repair anyway it won't cost you anything and might repair a damaged file nullnull Edited Tuesday at 09:06 AM by speed-of-heat 1 SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
sleighzy Posted Tuesday at 08:45 AM Posted Tuesday at 08:45 AM What kind of crash? The log doesn’t show a crash so Windows may be killing the process. Run the Windows DxDiag tool, save the output, and attach that here as well. Everything runs fine in 2D? There’s an OpenXR error that occurs around this time as well. Unsure of cause at this stage, and whether or not relevant. 2025-11-11 07:35:30.913 ERROR VISUALIZER (Main): OpenXR failure XrResult failure [XR_ERROR_TIME_INVALID] Origin: xrLocateSpace(headSpace, appSpace, predictedDisplayTime, &spaceLocation) Source: Projects\Visualizer\Source\OpenXR\openxr_program.cpp:1195 That preload radius is pretty low as well, bump that up to 60000 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
sleighzy Posted Tuesday at 08:51 AM Posted Tuesday at 08:51 AM Delete Saved Games\DCS\fxo and metashaders2 folders, run a slow repair with the option of removing extra files and see if that clears up the integrity check errors. AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
speed-of-heat Posted Tuesday at 09:03 AM Posted Tuesday at 09:03 AM How to repair/cleanup or update DCS World? Fanatic Posted Tuesday at 09:18 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 09:18 AM Well I think the drive I had it installed on was screwed. Things got worse, couldn't even run DCS MT. So I wiped that drive, deleted all the other DCS entries in user/saved games and reinstalled on my main drive. Seems to be working ok :). Looks like I'll remove and bin that old SSD and get a new one as I've only got 80Gb spare now and have only installed the F16. 1

Hopefully my HOTAS will turn up today and I can have a proper fly/test :), thanks for your help. 2

I'll look at the page file.If you still had your old Saved Games, you could potentially have mods there. I see you have fixed it, but just wanted to mention it. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
