Hello guys,

I'm trying to get my hands dirty into DCS Mission Creation and for that matter started to download static objects and what not missions I can gets my mouse cursor on.

So I just found out that there is a very nasty bug with this pack and I have no Idea how to fix it so I'll allow myself to tag @Rudel_chw and @vocpeople most likely to figure out the issue and because I'm using both shared content.

So that is the error message while I was trying to fly a mission with loaded static objects by @Rudel_chw for i.e. Batumi airfield

Quote

Template for Airbase Batumi, Blue faction. Modern Era, Caucasus Map.

Requires the following Mods:
- VPC Airfield Equipment Mod v0.9.4 by Voc, patched for DCS 2.9

Statics hidden for decluttering the F10 Map.
Includes Perimeter  moving vehicles, delete if not needed.
Includes Ramp  moving vehicles, delete if not needed.
Units: 90

The same message I got earlier this week while browsed the Mission Editor and what is included by the tech mods nullI unpacked into Saved Games folder.

So is there a way to fix any way because so many User Missions relayed on this tech pack it will be a real lost not to use them because they need/used very specific asset.

Thank you!

edit:

I was hopping to reproduce the error and after I unhide the units, clicking on the Lights did nothing but the moment I pressed second tab (yellow) under the group/unit management the game hanged and i forced to close it. image.png

Hi you could give this a try if you like i found it on the forum a while back when i had the same problem.

----

Easy fix for VPC not working (I'm assuming you're getting a fake omni light error).

Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Bazar\shaders\model

use your installed path to find          \Bazar\shaders\model

Duplicate both: fake_omni_lights2.fx and fake_spot_lights2.fx
Rename the duplicates: fake_omni_lights.fx and fake_spot_lights.fx respectively.

Well that went side ways,

not only it didn't fix it but once I checked show Hidden vehicles it showed the same error and crashed.

Seems like you don't have the patch to make the VPC mod compatible with DCS 2.9, I published it on the VPC main mod thread, on my PC I load it using a Mod manager, like this:

DPf6Qil.jpg

This patch goes onto the DCS main program folder, in addition I have the current VPC main Mod loaded at /Saved Games/, its download link is on the same VPC thread:

GAKAZd9.jpg

With those two parts loaded, my latest DCS is able to load the batumi Template with no issues:

and when I run DCS set at night time, I get the Mod assets light up (only those that have illumination attribute), like this:

Here is a link to the files I'm using:

Best regards,

Eduardo

Hello Eduardo, thank you for your mods and work great done, I tried to download the 'fix' you mention but the link for some reason is broken.

However I just woke up with idea that the lighting files maybe requires a night time so I try once more after copying and renaming the two files @waterman mentioned and this time I was able to load and see lights and presets despite the time of day.

So thank you both for now and I'll keep you notice if something brakes after future updates as I'm intended to use them extensively 🙂

Kind Regards,

I have attached the VPC fix file you could not download

It contains the 2 renamed files.

Might be worth trying these if you have any more problems as they may be slightly different.

I use the lights around my DCS Train Depots 🚂  🚂  they work great !

have fun

strange, I checked both links and they work for me 😞, but I’m glad you got it working  … also, these are not my mods: The VPC mod was created by @voc and the lights fix was first suggested by @Shlee
