speed-of-heat Posted November 15 Posted November 15 absolutely love the voice briefings and video intro's great work!.... However, I find the carrier approach a bit strange... during the final phases of the approach the flight does some a formation change and it's not really clear where you are meant to be on the left wing of -3 or behind -1 , and then they change again to echelon right ... and do some strange maneuver into the break rather than exiting out of point 3 in the overhead, i found this particularly incongruous, especially after the care with which we were require to do a DME approach into Akrotiri, the entry into the break is more about 780 rather than 800 and at 340 something rather than 350... not sure how much of this is under your control. Hi, Thanks for reporting. Unfortunately AI approach is not under my control at all. However they have made some what right kind of overhead break before so I need to check if there is something to report to ED 1
speed-of-heat Posted November 15 Author Posted November 15 I mean you could sort of waypoint it with a curved approach over the boat at 2000ft, and the a curved turn to get you to point 3 etc... and then once we are straight and level at what 3miles behind the boat they can start their break , though im not sure how fragile that would make it... honestly the odd formation change is sort of the strangest thing combined with the strange banking , as i'm really not sure what to do with it and trhe banking just feels completely random SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat

Much more simple. They make some turns without banking normally. Just tested the mission and for me it seems that as they are cleared signal charlie immediately they are doing just what they should do. Overfly the carrier and do their break with about 17 second intervals. There is no way to give AI orders to do very smooth circle over the carrier and then normal break. When ordered to land AI will just start the approach from begining. It is enough you fly with the formation. No need to be in just precice position. And as you are number four just make your break the last.
speed-of-heat Posted November 15 Author Posted November 15 yeah thats what i did in the end, it just felt ... well wrong... but AI is as AI does... , thanks for looking at it SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
