I used the template set by @Vladislav2Gimloo as a starting point. Thank you Sir! See his post here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3347249/ for a download link.

Additionally I'd like to thank ED for not encrypting the Fulcrum.

This livery depicts Luftwaffe MiG-29G 29+20 with the construction number (c/n) 2960526315, initially operated by the East German Air Force (Luftstreitkräfte der NVA) with the side number "785", that was assigned to Fighter Wing 73 Steinhoff after German reunification. It is famous for its unique paint scheme, which was applied in 2001 for the unit's open house day at Rostock-Laage air base. That livery is one of the default ones and this one is it's appearance prior to that scheme. Three years later, in 2004, it was decommissioned alongside all other Luftwaffe MiG-29s and was transferred to the Polish Air Force and given the side number 4121. I have been unable to determine whether this airframe was one of the ones transferred to Ukraine.

Hi, I really like Your skins and downloaded them nearly all, but this one doesn't work.

When we painted the ex-GDR FULCRUMS in Luftwaffe colours, initially we tried to give the radoms the same light grey finish like the fuselage. But the colour peeled off (as seen on Your skin). So this was quickly abandoned and the radoms were repainted with a dark grey colour that lasted. When I flew in 1994, only very few jets with the corrupted light grey colour on the radom were left (I actually only have seen one). In 1996 (I suppose already in 1995) there were no jets anymore with these radoms.

That's how the MiG-29s looked in 1994 (my pics):

And that's how they looked at the end of their Luftwaffe service. Transfer to Poland in December 2003 and with one of the first Eurofighters in April 2004 (my pics):

So Your skin unfortunately is much too dirty, especially for 1996 and even so for the 2003/2004 period. The jets were not actually dirty but the colour faded in some areas and was repainted so that the whole camo scheme looked uneven. (And the false cockpit came later in the 1990s but not on all jets.)

Would be great if You could do a skin with the dark grey radom and in the state they were in 1994. If You need more pics , just ask.

Thank You for Your work!

You wouldn't know of any photos in Ukraine livery would you?

I know there was one video posted by UkrAF that featured ex-Polish Fulcrum. It was in its original camouflage light grey - as any other Polish MiG in service, with distinct blue - yellow flags on flaps and tail

I have not seen or obtained any other photo.

Thank you @MiGCap1 for the detailed information and it's refreshing to hear from someone who was actually involved with the aircraft at the time. Were you involved in maintenance or flight crew (or something else)?

As you note, this airframe did exist with the eroded radome, even if for a short period, and that slice of time is what I chose to depict. I have attached some of the photos that I used as reference. As can be seen there was already some corrosion control happening and areas of wear and grime are evident. Admittedly, the last 3 are of 29+10 but I assume still representative of the general condition. Perhaps I did go a bit overboard but I claim artistic license... 🙄

Please don't misunderstand... I always welcome and encourage constructive criticism and your post certainly fits that category. Thank you!

My plan is to do skins of all of the liveries that this particular airframe has worn throughout it's life (even though some have already been done). So, Yes please... I would greatly appreciate any and all additional photos of (c/n) 2960526315 or similar airframes. I think Ukraine will be the hardest to find.

Hi @II.JG1_Vonrd

I was the inofficial public affairs (reserve) officer of the German MiG squadron and as air crew member (non-pilot) flew quite frequently in the MiG-29GT (German Trainer, the two-seater. The single-seaters were called MiG-29G or "Gustav" after the ICAO 1 conversion). My first two flights even happened when the FULCRUM still was in East German service in September 1990 as aviation journalist for the (then) West German magazine FLUG REVUE, so I can provide air-to-airs of GDR MiG-29s as well if You want. And I flew in the second batch of jets transferred to Poland in December 2003. But I have not so many of the original Kodachrome slides scanned until now.

We (the German FULCRUM Traditional Community) are just preparing a book about the Luftwaffe MiG-29s. For this purpose, more of my slides will be scanned in the beginning of next year. If You want my photos as base for future skins, just drop me a PM with Your mail address and I can send them to You.

Again, thank You for Your great skins!

Will do!

What a great opportunity to have in service of your country! I'm envious.

PM sent.
