Any of yo know where i can find a dummy's instruction to all the functions of the auto pilot and the fd ect

so if i want to fly for example just useing the altitude hold on radar how to do it and all the rest ??

the manual dosent say that well

and dose anyone know if the printed manual goes in to more detail on how to use things rather than just what they are ?

To use altitude hold, choose radar or barometric (there's a switch for this by the blue AP buttons on the right, IIRC) and hit the altitude hold blue autopilot button so it is activated.

Then press 'f' twice (collective brake) to set the desired altitude to the altitude you are at.

As always remember that AP authority is limited, so expect it to fly you into cliffs if you don't take care to watch where you're going (ie it cannot see in front of itself, so if there's a very sudden rise, it will not climb to avoid it - and if the rise is too tall and speed, it cannot climb fast enough to avoid it).

Route mode button = auto pilot. Helo will follow WPs if the DT/DH switch is set to DT or DH and pvi-800 waypoints are chosen. If DT/DH is in the center position and/or PVI waypoints are not selected, helo will hold current heading when route mode is enabled. Please note that the Route mode has no control over the pitch function of the helo, only the yaw (and bank when at speed). This means if you enable the route mode when in a hover, the helo will point in the direction of the waypoint, but not go forward. Actually, you have to control the Ka-50 at all times, it can do almost nothing by itself in this respect. You have to set cyclic for speed control, collective must be set correctly or Alt hold will not work, hover mode will not hover unless you do it first by trimming. It takes much practice and that is why BS is the best vehicle ever for a sim.

Pitch, Bank and Yaw buttons are dampers. Leave them turned on (although I occasionally turn off Yaw to make adjustments, then turn it back on). Think of them as flight control systems.

Hover mode button will hold a hover after you trim the helo. While slowing, repeatedly toggle it until you see no movement on the HSI crosshairs. Hover mode turns on ALt hold, but does not turn it off.

Descent mode makes the helo slowly descend while in hover mode while you hold the button.

Alt hold will try to hold an altitude and functions as GGTharos stated. It is not very good at it.

FD AP button is a yaw coupler and makes helo turn easier when flying manually.

ok im still getting somthing wrong with the altitude hold

is it ment to hold altitude in flight ?

this is what im am doing

using the mission basic flight to practice with

1 i start up

2 hover at about 30-40 meters

3 switch altitude hold on and other auto pilot modes off

4 flick switch to radar not barometer for auto

5 start forward flight

on folowing the ground on a slope proceed to hit the ground as the alt hold dose not appear to activate

have i missed something out or done actions in wrong order

Cheers

Don't initiate your alt. hold until you've achieved a stable flight profile. That is, don't engage it in a hover and expect it to work throug your transition to foward flight, get into forward flight first, and then engage it.
