Bee_Sting Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 look on the abris! i think the abris can give your wind conditions. the pvi 800 has a button to do this function
Waldo_II Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 You can radio the tower, tell them you are coming in for a landing, and they will give you the bearing and speed of the wind.
JG14_Smil Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 (edited) Hello, it is the center button on the bottom row of the pvi-800 buttons (below the '0'). It works as a toggle. You can see temps by hitting the FPL button on the ABRIS, it then will list waypoints and temp info. HSI mode for the ABRIS is very helpful for visualizing the wind direction once you know the direction. Please note the wind direction given in the briefing screen before the mission is where the wind is 'going' and not 'coming'. All descriptions of wind direction while in the helo (ATC, Pvi-800) are the direction the wind is 'coming' from (meteo wind). Edited September 23, 2009 by JG14_Smil
