Cionara Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 (edited) Hey I tried to complete the Courrier mission. Yesterday I failed while landing at the ship cause my gear broke during that. I then crashed with the rotor in the ship. Today I even failed landing on the street near the car. It's like that: I go into autohover, decellerate, let my gears down, manually position over the street near the car, land, suddenly the ka50 starts jumping, I try to reduce it and even switch the rpm to idle but it continous jumping till I explode. I uploaded the track on rapidshare. http://rapidshare.com/files/284061555/wtf.zip.html (It's called wtf because I was like "wtf", so dont be scared) Is there a way to fast forward a track ? I think I crashed after maybe 10 or 15 minutes after start. I could think that I maybe had to push the cyclic forward, but hm I don't know, I landed often safe before using same way. And I pushed the cyclic forward, only way then would be that the damn new trim didn't noticed my input because it didn't center right before. But I think you know it best. Could a mod move thread to "Missions/Tracks" ? Thank ya greets Cionara Edited September 23, 2009 by Cionara Watercooled Core i7 920 @ 4,3 Ghz @1.36Vcore GTX280- 700/1188 6144 MB DDR3 7-7-7-18 1333Mhz
morg Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 hmm, having auto-hover activated during the whole landing? It will get disabled when below 4m agl if i remember correctly, causing the autopilot to go crazy
Cionara Posted September 23, 2009 Author Posted September 23, 2009 (edited) No I manually landed and positioned correct over the road as far as I remember. Just watched it again. I make some things I dont have to like asking if I can start engine even when I already started them but the landing I would call nice and very smooth. Then the gear touches the ground, and starts jumping like a low rider, it really looks like a damn low rider helo ^^ and then explodes.... I mean, I would say it's a bug because it just jumps that strange, but others have done this mission can only be my fault. Watch it yourself and have fun watching it jump ;-) Another question: Why doesn't the tower answer me when I ask for takeoff. Tower answers when I ask to start engine and to hover. Or do I have to ask in a specific row ? Engines -> Taxi -> Hover -> Takeoff ? dragony Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Well, I've flown this mission a lot during it's development and in later versions and never had any problems. When performing landing you: 1) Turn off autohover - better not to use it at all 2) Do not forget trim frequently - especially when autopilot channels are on and direct control is off. 3) Push reset trim button after touchdown. Procedure for taking off is (permission requests only): Engine start -> Taxi -> (on runway) Take off or: Engine start -> Control Hover -> Flying away without any further requests. Cionara Posted September 24, 2009 Author Posted September 24, 2009 Ok thank you. Someone watched the track and can tell me what I did wrong there ? => Watercooled Core i7 920 @ 4,3 Ghz @1.36Vcore GTX280- 700/1188 6144 MB DDR3 7-7-7-18 1333Mhz
Nate--IRL-- Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 You didn't do anything wrong as far as I can see. Looks like a bug in that part of the road. It's probably one of those things that won't be there when you try the mission again. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Cionara Posted September 24, 2009 Author Posted September 24, 2009 Thank you for watching =) Ok cool not my fault. But had it two times yesterday. Was really frustrating to get blown up because of a road. Watercooled Core i7 920 @ 4,3 Ghz @1.36Vcore GTX280- 700/1188 6144 MB DDR3 7-7-7-18 1333Mhz
159th_Viper Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Just watched your Track and thereafter took control at about 25mAGL and attempted myself. Definitely a Terrain Glitch. If you see from the track, Post-Landing has the Landing Gear literally 'Buried' in the Road. It is almost as if there is Superglue holding the Helo down and subsequent Control Inputs are exaggerated to the extent that Calamity ensues.......:helpsmilie: That said - Successful Landing is possible if one is really gentle with the Touch-Down and you Throttle Down once on the Road - Track: http://www.2shared.com/file/8016710/1c5820e8/wtf1.html Alternatively, Just land in front of the vehicle so the driver can actually see you - Road Surface is fine there :) Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career?
