Newb Here. Quick Question!

First of all, I love this sim. It is very challenging, fun, and an overall great experience. However, one thing bothers me. I realize this is a sim and is meant to be realistic. However, why is there not a "Save Game" option? I hate being 20 minutes into a mission and then have to leave somewhere... meaning I would have to restart the mission when I get back. I really hate wasting time like that. Same with flying to an ingress point for 30 minutes and then to get shot down, and have to do it all over again.

 

Is there any way to save during a mission?

 

I did a quick forum search and search in pdf docs that came with the game but found nothing.

Yes you're right.

But I think it's anyway most fun to play it if you have some time,

you can relax and dive into the atmosphere then =)

There is a save option in Lock On that was bugged. I imagine it was just too difficult to include this into the current DCS. Perhaps it will be back in the future.

Can't you watch your own track, then take control at the appropriate point? I forget if you can take control outside the training missions. Use time compression to get to where you want to be.

If you have to leave for a while and can come back you could just hit the pause button. Not a complete fix but usable.
