Doc. Caliban Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Hello, From what I can tell, I communicate with the ground crew while hot by turning the radio knob near the targeting controls to the ground crew setting, but I never get a reply. I'm obviously doing something wrong. Help? In the mean time I'm having to do a full shutdown and open the door. :-( -Doc [ Asus Rampage II Extreme | Intel i7 920 @ 3.6GHz| 12GB DDR3 | 3-Way SLI (3x GTX280OC 1GB) | 300GB Raptor | SupremeFX X-Fi 7.1 audio | 1,200W Thermaltake Toughpower PSU | 30" LCD @ 2560x1600 | Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar | TrackIR 5 | CoolerMaster HFC 332 case ]
Lava Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Make sure your radios are turned on, through the switches on the right. You've got the radio set to ground crew already, hmm. Those two things usually do it for me. Is this on all missions? If it's a specific track, maybe that FARP isn't set up to rearm or something similar.
Doc. Caliban Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 Thanks for the reply. The mission where I noticed this was the 'pirates' mission where it suggests that you install NVG. The mission starts with you hot on the FARP, so I assume the radios are on. I switch the selector and never get a reply. If I shut down and try again after the door is open, it works fine. Lava Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Hm, well, if you can get the name of the mission I'll try it myself.
Doc. Caliban Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 It's the only non-campaign mission with the word 'pirates' in the title. Toward the bottom. Let me know if I'm doing something wrong. Lava Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Ah, you aren't going to like this. I had no problems loading up South Ossetia Pirates, immediately switching the dial on the left to Ground Crew, then asking for NVG installation. Are you touching JUST that dial? Nothing else? This is... odd. Are you patched up to 1.01?
Doc. Caliban Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 Ah, I just left the game and didn't try it again. I did some hot comms in another mission and it worked fine. Thanks for checking, I'll give it a go tomorrow and test it. Patched up, yes. Weird I had no issue speaking to the ground crew when cold but when hot no joy. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 64th "Scorpions" Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 195.201.110.22
DocNobby Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Make sure you don't move. Apply wheel brakes. Sometimes you're rolling very slow, then groundcrew will not talk to you. :smartass:
Kurtz Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Might be worth noting if the farp is busted in some way due to attack it may not be functional. Sometimes in multiplay some peeps get their jollies blowing up neutral targets.
