Gadroc Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I just got my G940 yesterday and in general YEA! I'm going to have to learn to fly all over again as it's much more sensitive than my stock X52 it's replacing. I also love the pedals the action is very smooth and feels much nicer than the saitek pro pedals. I love that the profiling software has a full command list built in. The problem I'm running into is that the profiling software does not automatically switch to the DCS profile when I start a mission or campaign (I'm running Vista x64 with UAC off). It does work properly with other games like Arma2. This is compounded by awkward way in which you have to force a profile manually. Does anyone else have this problem?
blaster454 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Hi, Gadroc! Welcome to the G940 owners club! The problem may be that Black Shark uses two different executables: one for the GUI (launcher.exe) and one for the actual 3D engine (dcs.exe). The profile is set up with dcs.exe as the sim's executable so I don't think you can launch a BS session from the profiler. It may be that when you exit the BS GUI (to fly the mission), the GUI calls the DCS engine in a way that the profiler doesn't see or understand. This is pure guess work on my part but seems logical. You could try to switch the BS profile over to launcher.exe but I think you might need the -console command parameter for that to be valid. Not sure how to get that into the Logitech BS profile other than maybe editing the <GUID>.xml file that contains the profile (and that might not work correctly either). So far, I just make sure the profiler is open and the BS profile is loaded then start BS as I normally do. That seems to work. Hope this helps! Lava Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I do what blaster does - make sure the profiler is open and set to BS. Then I launch using the appropriate desktop icon. The odd mish-mash of executables Black Shark uses makes things a bit more difficult. TrackIR these days is having trouble changing profiles when BS is open too.

I have the Logitech G13 gaming keyboard and I guess it uses the same profiler system and for that I use dcs.exe from the game folder and everytime I start black shark it also automaticly start the game profile. I might be wrong and I will find out soon when I get my G940 system this week. Go Ugly Early
emenance Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I would like to see some more feedback from the Logitech guy about using the G940 with the G15 keyboard and the troubles with starting the game and the profile. I think we need some instruction on how to initiate the Logitech profile the RIGHT way. BTW thanks for making one Logitech. Please help us get off to a good start will you?
