BlackFallout Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 (edited) A-10 close call: BETTER video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPvVacN41lY&feature=related The British soldiers are lucky that burst only got that close. The sound of the GAU-8 is awesome however. Seems I posted this in the wrong thread. Edited October 5, 2009 by BlackFallout
CE_Mikemonster Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Evil little thing isn't it ('little' - Ha!). We had a discussion about the size of it's rounds and people were getting to the conclusion that it took milk-bottle sized rounds. I saw the A-10 at Fairford and the actual barrel diameter is fairly small (compared to what I'd expected). Go on people flame me and talk about muzzle velocity.. I know it's very powerful (and the gun itself is huge), but the muzzles/barrels look tiny IRL. Too many cowboys. Not enough indians. GO APE SH*T

SpudmanWP Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I have been as cles as ~100 yards to a A-10's target in training. It was AWESOME :) Although I do not know the details of the video, if the pilot hit the target, then the FAC needs to be smacked. IIRC, there was an incident a while back where the FAC accidentally called in the GPS coordinates of his own position. OOPS.

Bit Leaner than your Average Pint of Milk, but definitely not lacking in the Length dept.......
