Hello folks,

I am trying to enable Vsync with Lockon, but I haven't been able to do that despite using several different softwares.

I have a Radeon 4890 and I have tried enabling it through ATI control panel, but that doens't do anything. I have tried using D3D Overrider (which works beautifully with DCS Blask Shark), but that is another no go.

Is it possible to enable Vsync in this game at all?

I am using Windows Vista Ultimate 64.

I get a tremendous amount of tearing to a point that it starts to bother a lot, and vsync is an absolute must have.

Thank you for any help.

Download Rivatuner, when installed go to the folder Rivatuner\Tools and there is the D3DOverrider which can force Vsync on any 3d application, then you can make a shortcut to not always have to search that folder.

Hello guys and thanks for the suggestions.

I have tried D3DOverrider which comes with RivaTuner. It works beautifully with Black Shark, but it simply doesn't work with Lockon at all. =(

I have also read about ATT. I have downloaded it, but unfortunately it is not compatible with Windows Vista at its current state.

That leaves me with no other alternative, and it's really sad because it's a sim I love flying.

I didn't use to have absolutely any problems with Lockon before upgrading my system. I now have a system that is 10 times better than my old one, I bought a TrackIR, X52 Pro, but I can't use the sim properly because the image tearing is simply killing me.

I can take low fps. That's tolerable. But the tearing is simply awful. I turn my head a little bit to one side and the whole image seems to tear apart.

If someone could come up with another suggestion, I'd be so glad.

Is it even possible to enable VSync while using Vista 64 Ultimate with Lockon? Has anyone managed to do it?

I ask this because I imagine a fairly large number of users here have upgraded their systems mainly to play Black Shark, and also added more Ram memory. With that in mind the only OS that could serve you right is Vista 64, as XP 64 is too cumbersome to begin with. Now, all these people that have upgraded could not fly with that much tearing. They would've posted questions in this forum asking for a way to enable VSync. However, there are almost no posts for this matter, which leads me to believe that either people tolerate the immense tearing or there is indeed a way to enable it.

Well, it only makes the more puzzled. =(

==>EDIT: YEY!!! I got it working. Thanks to Kaspersky and its intrusive behavior. I forgot to turn it off before launching the sim and it gave me a pop up asking for permission to let Lockon run. As soon as I alt tabbed out of Lockon I heard the little chime from D3DOverrider telling me VSync was on. All I have to do now is Alt Tab out of Lockon and bingo! VSync is on!!! =)
