Majesco Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Is possible to change the default tactical code to other numbers and how to do it ? eg: i want to change this "01 Blue" to "911 Blue" or "63 Red" ,etc
Case Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 I am not sure how it is done exactly, but I seem to recall it having to do with a file named nomera.tga (or similar). Perhaps you can search the forums for such keywords. There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
Pilotasso Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 You can change the number in the same screen you change paint scheme. .
Lucas_From_Hell Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Paint a 9 on this skin right before the place where the 01 is. Colours change from skin to skin, but you can do it by changing the colours of the numbers on the NOMERA.tga file. Not sure if it will look good, but it's worth the try.
Majesco Posted October 25, 2009 Author Posted October 25, 2009 You can change the number in the same screen you change paint scheme. Wow, thank you, i did it (change ONBOARD #) ;) Su-27 "63 Red" is here, but the game limits tactical code = 2 digits, no way to change into 3 or 4 digits
Exorcet Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Russian and German aircraft go from 00-99. US aircraft go from 000-999. I think most of NATO besides Germany does too. Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
Vekkinho Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 (edited) Maj, you can't go 3 digit with russian planes. Period. But if you wish to change color of the tactical for any of the skins, that's possible! For instance, you showed us a Lypetsk skin made for 3GO Flanker which has red number on the nose and verticals. So let's say you wanna turn it blue. Possible by editing your Su-27.skins file located in Lock On\Bazar\World\Shapes folder. -First you rename extension of that file from Su-27.skins to Su-27.doc; -You open it with MS-Word or any other text editor that reads .doc files; -Than you look for the skin entry you wish to edit (in this case it's a Lypetsk bird and IIRC it's in a value 0.6 entry); -You'll notice a line underneath saying: material = {"3gonumber", "standart", "su-27-nomera-red.tga"}; -Change it to a: material = {"3gonumber", "standart", "su-27-nomera.tga"}; -Make a save and rename the file back to Su-27.skins The numbers you've selected in ingame Mission editor\Payload screen should appear blue for that particular skin! Thanks, but i don't wish to change color of the tactical code number  The thing i want is what you mentioned above that i can't go 3 digits with Russian planes, so there's no way to make 3GO' Su-27 looks like the demonstrator Su-35BM with 3 yellow/ brown/ green "splinter" color scheme, numbered "901 Blue" as below :D Edited October 26, 2009 by Majesco
Udat Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Maybe you can paint the 9 or the 1 on the actual skin, so that it'll alway be there.. Might offset the numbers too much to the left or right though. Intel i7-950 @stock, Asus P6X58D-E, 3x4GB Corsair Vengeance, Asus GTX 580, Corsair 120GB SSD, Corsair HX 750W PSU [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Azrayen Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Hi Vekkinho -First you rename extension of that file from Su-27.skins to Su-27.doc; (...) -Make a save and rename the file back to Su-27.skins There is no need to rename the file (modify its extention) to work with it in a text editor. I'm not sure using MS word (nor any other "rich text" editor) is a good idea. Keep it simple : open the .skins file directly with a good notepad (e.g. Notepad++ is great... and free !) Cheers Az'
