BigVette Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 I've got this funky white horizontal line while I'm on the ramp, see the attached pics. I've got the latest nVidia driver 191.07 for my GeForce 9800GTX+, is there perhaps a setting I've checked that might be making this? Thanks! :pilotfly: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Gigabyte P55-USB3 Intel i7-870 with 8 GB DDR3-1333 nVidia GeForce 470 GTX 1280mb RAM SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
EtherealN Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 No, it's a problem in the engine and unfortunately there probably isn't anything you can do about it. :( [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
Mustang Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 You could try this: open graphics.cfg and look for the near_clip and middle_clip values and change each of them to near_clip = 0.1; and middle_clip = 1; It should fix this issue, some say it causes other problems in return, but i cannot remember what they were.
EtherealN Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 (edited) Yeah, I also remember that fix being associated with a pretty big caveat (big enough that at the time I decided not to use it). Can't recall what it was either tho. I'll see if I can find information on it. --- EDIT: Found it, in the FAQ thread :P http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=611617&postcount=51 Q: I'm seeing a white/yellow line on the ground when viewing from inside the cockpit. A: This is an LOD-related issue in the graphics engine and cannot be fixed. A "home remedy" is possible by changing the LOD distance values in the configuration files, but this will affect the entire graphics engine and is not a recommended solution. I am getting curious about what the exact impact ends up being (I have suspicions) so I think I'll be testing that. 26-J39 Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 I've found changing these values can cause some problems with the clouds. Some look like they are chopped in half. I prefer this to having a white line across the screen..
BigVette Posted October 27, 2009 Author Posted October 27, 2009 Oh wow, didn't expect that in the FAQ's - my bad! Otherwise such a great graphics engine, too!
