dooom Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Is there any way to change the HMS position when it drops down over the eye? It seems it is rather high up on my screen such that when i zoom it is actually not in the frame of my vision anymore... makes it tough to lock onto Hinds from a distance. EtherealN Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 That seems peculiar. Do you have a screenshot of you zoomed in that I can compare with? I would however guess that if that can be changed, it would impact track replays, including the tutorial tracks and so on. But still, you should probably be locking with the Skhval anyhow. That's even easier. :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester

JG14_Smil Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 if you use TIR, just comfortably look at the HUD test button while you center it. You can move where the HMS sits by adjusting center point of TIR.
dooom Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 hi - no screenies coming - found out it was a tir/lua issue... a fix is here: http://www.vaaf.net/wiki2/index.php5?title=Black_Shark_HMS in case anyone stumbles on this thread through a search. It's been pointed out that that's where it is in reality. However, the real pilot can centre it on his view just by looking up, or by staying focused on the same point and tilting his head down just a little bit. Otherwise it's out of the way. I can achieve the same thing with the top bar on the frame of my glasses. Normally I don't even notice it's there. But if I keep focus on a point, and tilt my head down a little, I can bring the cross bar right across the target. To simulate this we'd have to have inputs for eye movement in addition to head movement. There's eye tracking hardware available but I don't know of any sim that imlements eye tracking on top of head tracking.
