Comieodor Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Hello all. I'm chasing the old Flanker files (Specifically 2.0 - 2.5 and 2.5 - 2.51 patches). Basically I've gotten my hands on an old Laptop (P3 600 / 4mb S3 card) and until my new iMac arrives its the only way I can get a Flight Sim fix. Unfortunately it doesn't have a network card and my only way to get files to it is to download them on my other laptop (G4 Powerbook I'm on now) and shift them over by USB. The only place I've managed to find the files is on Fileplanet which doesn't seem to like Safari or Firefox and won't let me download them. Any ideas guys? with Frugals and Hams site vanishing I'm stumpted and google's not turned up anything that works. @mods - Apologies i this is not the place for this request, it seemed the most appropriate. 104th_Money Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 what OS are you running on your g4? if its not 10.5 leopard you can download the old internet explorer for mac. Or you can download Netscape Navigator. When I get things I cant download, usually Navigator handles it with no problem. Comieodor Posted November 7, 2009 Author Posted November 7, 2009 @golfsierra2 - As I said in my PM thanks you so very much for getting those files to me. I can't wait to get them installed and get back in the air. Re-booting Flanker 2.5 is almost like going to visit an old friend I havent seen since high school. Lots of good times. @mikoyan - Its about time ED/TFC got the original its own freeware release *shoots puppy dog eyes their way. presumably the rights are with SSI or somebody who's not terribly inclined to do it. I'd love to get my hands on a copy of the original. @TWMoney - this lappy is running leopard so ie is out (not that I'm all that sad about it). Fileplanet uses some Gamespy Download manager which doesn't seem to like mac much. After some faffing about I managed to get it going on the old laptop - and by some I mean $#&^Loads of faffing about. The old things 64mb Ram doesn't take to kindly to a wirelesss card and firefox 3.5. I'm thinking of trying to find some old memory for it but should probably stop spending money on the thing :p [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
