Friends'm on a mission with several ground targets, tanks, after destroying many, there comes an hour not launch more missiles guided by lasers. Appears (TA) and © but not more (TA-NA) that indicates to me that I can launch the missile. In the arms is selective (NA) I'm with the selectors Air Groud on and laser designator as well.

Tanks,

Laser burned? I never thought that the simulator reached this level of realism, but as I know that the laser is burnt and cool properly?

Remember that you can burn out the rangefinder laser as well. If you keep grabbing range information you will burn it out - only use the lasers when you need them.

Your laser has probably burnt out. Turn it off as soon as you dont use it and always let it cool down properly!

I hung it and still not returned to normal, to know that it has cooled?

Not get it right could you explain better? ragefinder?

Yesterday formatted and reinstalled the Black Shark and installed the patch 1.0.1c and it was under him that this started happening, I remember that it had never happened before, used the 1.0.1b. Does it have something to do?

If the laser will burn, is to fix? For in the middle of the mission to burn the laser will stay on hand! I thought that would not happen anything wrong since I'm playing the way immortal, Weapons inexhaustible

If it's burnt out it has to be replaced. What you have to do is make sure to not burn it out in the first place. ;) Basically, shut the laser off whenever you don't need it, only take in range information if you are actually verifying for a shot (don't range terrain and so on). You might be able to get the helicopter repaired through landing at your home base and sitting still there for 3-5 minutes.

You'll know the launching laser is cooled through a count-down that happens - basically, you won't get a TA-NY (but you might get a TA) until the laser cooldown timer has elapsed.

But, again, do note that you can also burn out your laser rangefinder, and without that one you'll also have serious issues. I usually fly with laser standby on off almost all the time - only when I am getting myself into position to plan an attack run do I engage it, usually after having scanned the target area already with the Shkval. No point painting the whole landscape with laser beams until you're ready to commit to an attack. :) (Besides, there's no telling how many laser warning receivers you might be setting off.)

There is a post somewhere by Ulrich, in a thread in the Problems & Bugs section, where the approximate timings you need to adhere to to conserve the lasers are listed.

I've never had a problem with burning out the laser and I set it to stand-by as soon as I clear the FARP or airfield. My understanding of the "stand-by" setting is that the laser is powered but until you actually lase a tgt for range it is not used so there is no heat issue. Unless, as pointed out earlier you are lasing alot.

I don't beleive you have to turn it off and on to prevent burning out the laser. That's been my experience so far.

Here there has been as follows: when I came close to the enemies lines, turn on the laser and missel and I try to keep the target in sight, ie lock. And I'm following the approach of her countdown of miles. When I am an ideal distance, do the normal engagement and I reastreando targets next, all with the laser turned on. After hitting several targets, do not count, it simply stops working, lock the target but not the NA appears the C but not the form (TA-NA). After this I can't launch the missile accurately.

Another question, once launched the missile must be iluminhando it with the laser and can turn it so the missile is launched, thereby avoiding overheating?

I think if you have self control there's no difference between the laser system being in off or standby-without-use. I don't know if there's a warmup time either. The laser's not really on except for short bursts, when you press the lock/designate button on the collective it just makes a short laser burst for range (< 1 sec?). Only if you get rangerfinder bursts a lot really close together is it bad.

The launch and guidance of a Vikhr on the other hand makes the laser stay on for a long time, from launch all the way 2 seconds after the computer thinks the missile will hit.

I don't fully understand the HUD countdown laser rest timer too well. I make sure not to violate it but I don't understand it.

I'm acting now powered off the laser and so enabling the time to shoot the missile. I whole procedure of catching the target without the laser firing and so, unplug it. Let's see if doing so solves this inconvenience.

Thank you in advance to all
