sojourner Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 I know I should do some research and what not but I am a bit overwhelmed at the moment with projects. I received my new PC today and it was loaded with Win7. When I installed Blackshark and tried to run it, I received an error stating dx9.dlls were not found on the system. The system is currently at dx11 and I would assume that its backward compatible but that might not be the issue. I tried to run the game in compat mode Winxp sp2 but the same error occured. I could try to install dx9 from its setup but what would that do to 11? How should I proceed? Thanks, Jeff
Distiler Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 When you install DCS, it asks for installing DX9. Do it or just download DX9 from Microsoft website (it doesen't overwrite DX11, it just installs DX9). Panzertard Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 What distiler said, but for future reference, here's the download link for DirectX9 English (change the language to your preference / os version); http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3 The mind is like a parachute. sojourner Posted November 14, 2009 Author Posted November 14, 2009 That worked. Thanks! I've been out of the pc business for so long I have forgotten literally everything I knew. Sad, but my aging brain only has room for UNIX and coding now. Now if I can just locate my serial key off the old harddrive somewhere. I have been unsuccessful so far. I seem to recall having to login to the store to get the key in the first place. lets see if I can make progress there
