I know I should do some research and what not but I am a bit overwhelmed at the moment with projects.

I received my new PC today and it was loaded with Win7. When I installed Blackshark and tried to run it, I received an error stating dx9.dlls were not found on the system. The system is currently at dx11 and I would assume that its backward compatible but that might not be the issue. I tried to run the game in compat mode Winxp sp2 but the same error occured.

I could try to install dx9 from its setup but what would that do to 11?

How should I proceed?

Thanks,

Jeff

When you install DCS, it asks for installing DX9. Do it or just download DX9 from Microsoft website (it doesen't overwrite DX11, it just installs DX9).

AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2

That worked. Thanks!

I've been out of the pc business for so long I have forgotten literally everything I knew. Sad, but my aging brain only has room for UNIX and coding now.

Now if I can just locate my serial key off the old harddrive somewhere. I have been unsuccessful so far. I seem to recall having to login to the store to get the key in the first place.

lets see if I can make progress there
