DiabloSP Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Nice work Trujillo! If you could post the way you're getting to this kind of results, I guess the community would be glad to help. Seems very, very interesting. Keep it up!
trujillostm Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 There are many things to know. You need to know Photoshop and 3dsmax. I'm using IrfanView and XnView too. For example, to join 1600 images of 256x256 that I obtain in Spain, and crop to a big image of 10000x10000 pixels...
SkidMark Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Great work there Trujillostm. Looks like we could be in for a treat with some similar terrains in the new A-10C "Warthog"...aswell....(Let's hope so) ;) Found this pic from here>> http://www.simhq.com/_air13/air_425a.html and this pic from here>> http://simhq.com/_air13/air_440a.html Keep up the good work Trujil....and just maybe... one-day, we can ALL have the "photo-realistic" looking terrain of our own backyard/area to fly over....Thanks to you.
trujillostm Posted December 5, 2009 Author Posted December 5, 2009 My aero-photos are of public domain in Spain. I can't make money with it, and I can't modify it. I think Eagle Dinamics can't use real photos, because they are private and make money... This is the reason because you can see general textures in the game... But for personal use, We can use our photos and our terrain... For test my scenery, I need to make a ModMan installer... Do you know what to do it?
trujillostm Posted December 6, 2009 Author Posted December 6, 2009 (edited) This is the map that I have actually. They are 80 x 120 km. And some images of scenery in action. Edited December 6, 2009 by trujillostm 1

Eagle Dynamics' terrain is much lower resolution than this, so they need to add the general textures to make it look better at lower altitudes- especially farms and cities.
