Installing Black Shark clean - saving settings?

Hey gang,

 

I have gathered all the components for a new build, which I will be doing around the middle of next month. I will be installing Win 7 64 bit clean on a new hard drive, and obviously will be reinstalling all my apps.

 

I have Black Shark set up just like I want, for my graphics and controls. I would like to be able to just copy back over any files I need to the new install, so I can launch Black Shark once installed and have everything as I have it now, my log, medals, controls, graphics.

 

I would sure appreciate any feedback on what files I might should look out for, to copy back over to the new install of Black Shark to help make this happen.

Not a helpful answer but I recommend going clean, akin to getting a divorce and starting a new life. Hoding on to those old accomplishments and battles is like keeping a picture of your ex in your wallet. Perhaps more helpful is to offer one thing NOT to save and that is your joystick.LUA file. When your new Black Shark looks at that file it, for some reason, gets it all wrong, particularly axis settings. I've had to complete Windows reinstalls since purchasing BS and I've learned to start fresh and new.

 

Don't forget to:

 

1)Deactivate

2)Recall and note config changes such as Natural Head Movement Off and "Old" Trimmer (if that's your preference).

3)If you made Sound changes such as Russian Almaz (Betty), be sure to back up the sound folder.

Ok, I was hoping I could just copy and paste over any relevant files so I did not have to reconfigure, sounds like that would not be a good idea then.

I was in the same position, when I recently re-installed Windows 7, and I could not figure out a way to back up the logbook. There is a program called the Blackshark Backup Utility (sp?) available on the lockonfiles website, and it backs up most of the important folders, that may help out if you want to try and backup configuration.

Here's a few,and modify the path to be coherent with your installation:

 

C:\Games\BlackShark\BlackShark\data\scripts\options.lua (graphics options and such)

C:\Games\BlackShark\BlackShark\data\scripts\Logbook\Players.lua (logbook)
