Hello,

I work since 2 years at this project. New tanks, helicopters, buildings, soldiers and textures. Well a long long process. Sometimes I sitting infront of my computer display with sleepfull eyes and think just like mantra: "make it realisticly! make it realisticly! make it ...."

Well I`m more an artist them a constructor. So I have to interprate trees, fields, grounds to give them a good look. It`s the harder way to make it all self but well: Sometimes I`m happy about the pics.

Interesting: All fighters, tanks and stoff like that builded by me

A Winter Edition of this Mod is developed by me in Cooperation with Tomcatz. The first Version will be finished around X-Mas

Loving the trees! And the snowy winter is awesome!

 

Is there a way to release this as separate mods (Terrain and models)? This would allow for much more customization.

DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

Hello,

 

well- not pretty sure about it course the winter package is completely Fahrenheits engagement. So I thing he have to answer..

 

I`m pretty sure that he will upgrade his textures next time but right: winter have to be really white an full of snow. Not that lightly frozen land just like we have in LOMAC right know . Allthough Lomacs textures allways good.

#1 for FC 1.12

#2 for FC 2.0

I think it wont be a challenge to make this mod compatible with Lo 2.0 ;)

 

My question wasn't related to compatibility, but about how much will we benefit from this MOD after we get all the goodies from DCS.

 

What I mean is, most of the features of LO4E are will be included already in LO2.0, and this time it won't be just the tweaks and miracles our excellent LOFC modders do. We'll get real infantry, totally new, fully working and detailed helicopter, tanks and veichle models, new, excellent looking terrain textures, objects... Regarding only to this, how much of LO4Ever you are planning to export to LO 2.0?

 

(About the terrain 100% covered with snow, I don't know if I'd use it... Do we have any satellite picture from the Kuban region and nearby in the winter? I couldn't find any to compare, so I'm still somewhat skeptical about this snow thing :( Anyone have some?)

Suggestion: Instead of haveing the "unplowed" sections of runways and taxiways (parts with the snow still on them), keep them nicely clean, except have the cracks in the cement and tarmac filled in with snow. ie, instead of dark lines in between the sections of cement, make them white.

 

Suggestion 2: make the snow "fluffier" using a cloud texture or something in Photoshop or Gimp, especially near the airfields and in the fields. I'll whip up an example really quick.

I am planning to make the runway icy, but I currently have to find a solution for smooth transitions int the TGA files, because the transparency is always filled with green grass or something like that

This is going to be a kick%$$ of a Mod, something thats been needed for a long time, don't forget the De-icing trucks, never seen "clean snow" at an airfield except in the middle of the airfield at Bodo, Norway, when watching the old SR-71 take off many years ago and of course high up in the mountains

Maybe a blue-ish hue as well? Especially for the shadows? This is something I tend to notice a lot when I look outside at the snow drifts.
