Warbird_242 Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Sorry, i know this has been asked before but I can't find anything on it. At startup, there is a llittle line on the HUD compass that points to the first waypoint, yet if I trim or press SUSP to select the next waypoint, it dissappears. Is there a way to permanently have this pointing at the next waypoint? And am i doing the right thing in pressing SUSP? Thanks Warbird
AlphaOneSix Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Do you mean a line that starts at the center of the HUD and extends away from the center? If so, that line show your direction of flight and groundspeed, and has nothing to do with waypoints. It should show up below 50km/hr groundspeed. (I think it's 50, I don't know for sure off the top of my head). 1
Warbird_242 Posted December 12, 2009 Author Posted December 12, 2009 No, at the top of the HUD ( or mabye it's the bottom) there is a vertical bar, like a capital I that is on the compass. It corresponds with the heading hold setting but at the very start, the bar will be on the first waypoint heading ( on compass on 350, for example) . I hope I am making sense :P
GGTharos Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Sounds like your course deviation bar. You have to be in an appropriate mode for this to show, IIRC, and yes, I think it's on the bottom of the HUD. Frederf Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Are you playing in game mode or sim mode? Item #14 is the Heading Scale and #16 is the Desired Heading Cue. The cue points at the desired navigation point only if a current navigation task is in use such as DL Ingress, WPT, or AIRFLD and the DH-M-DT switch is in either DH or DT mode (not center-M). Otherwise the cue shows the current heading captured via trim. ... I think that's how it works. In either case the HSI instrument always shows the navigation direction if one exists. SUSP is a button on the ABRIS which has nothing to do with the HUD. The ABRIS flight plan and the PVI-800 can be doing two different flight plans and never know it. 1
Warbird_242 Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 ah ok thankyou frederf - I think that's it but I'll consult the manual in a little more detail
