Boberro Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Shkval locking mechanism depends on external conditions instead of shkval image. I can adjust the shkval to see a target well, but it will not lock because it is dark outside. Please make Sshkval lock ability to depend on Shkval camera lighting and not on external world lighting. Picture 1: Default situation, default settings - can't be locked, I can agree - object in TV is not well visible. Picture 2: Adjusted settings (contrast and brightness) - shape is well visible, good contrast between object and background. But it can't be locked, cos Shkval doesn't use its own camera and user TV settings but use external lighting only. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... Feuerfalke Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 As it was posted before, the SHKVAL's capacity to lock a target in darkness is limited. The camera-system is not as flexible as the human eye and it was not designed for night-time operation. If you want a positive lock at night, you have to get closer so the sensor-resolution can make out the target clearly. Long story short: That's not a bug, that's a feature. Boberro Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 So does Shkval consider user TV settings for lock action or not ? Becose I can adjust TV and see good unit, I think Shkval should as see as on TV monitor, shouldn't it? If no what for is there contrast and brightness? Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. EvilBivol-1 Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I believe the brightness/contrast settings you are adjusting are for the TV Monitor itself, not the Shkval sensor. They are intended for the pilot's eyes, not the camera. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
Boberro Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 Aa, so it is only for TV Monitor... I thought it is linked somehow to Shkval computer and it considers user settings to lock. Thanks!
