Woots Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Thought I'd share my set up with ya'll. 60 in plasma TV for a monitor hooked up into my 5.1 AV receiver. Wireless keyboard and mouse so I can sit back. Notice the track IR is mounted on a tri-pod to the left since I have to sit so far back. Computer is a 2.88 quad core, windows 7. One sweet ride. Lucid484 Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 liek my setup..been playing on a 56" DLP for a while now..cockpit is almost life like =) i'm gonna be getting track ir also soon..but heres a tip I found from their site...you'll get much less accuracy and freedom of movement with the track ir that far out on either side...you can put it behind your head on a tripod or wall mounted and just reverse the AXIS' you'll get much better response/accuracy that way! Core i7-930 (2.8 OC to 3.85), ASUS Rampage II Extreme, XFX Radeon 5870, 6 Gigs MUSHKIN DDR3-1600 6-8-6-24, 128 GB Crucial C300 SSD, 500 GB Western 5400rpm Digital Green Drive,ASUS SATA 3 6gbps card.
Woots Posted January 4, 2010 Author Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) you can put it behind your head on a tripod or wall mounted and just reverse the AXIS' you'll get much better response/accuracy that way! The track IR folks suggested the same thing to me but my set up is smooth as silk as is. But good reminder that folks have a couple of options when setting up track IR with TVs this big. Another suggestion/tip - I use a girl's hair barrette instead of a headset. I wanted to hear my AV 5.1 receiver and not be forced to listen through earphones. It's feather light and very comfortable.
