Sirocco Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Apologies in advance if I missed a solution to this while searching. I've tried two or three missions, but with all of them I find that after a while the graphics just die. The game is still active because I can switch between views and there's an audio change. For example I can start up, taxi, takeoff, and then fly for perhaps thirty minutes and then it just seems to happen randomly. I also have the dreaded BSOD sometimes. The last time I clicked the reset sensor button and it crashed, but that's less of an issue at the moment. As it stands I can't complete a single mission. Panzertard Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Simply a few guesses; - Dust / clogged fans / temp increase, clean the computer. - Drivers for Nvidia. Be sure you also have a patched DCS, with patch for correct language. The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
Sirocco Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 Thanks for your reply. - Dust / clogged fans / temp increase, clean the computer. Never had a problem of this kind with ROF, or FSX. And it's not all that long since I had the last clean out. After long sessions with ROF the fans are chugging away quite nicely, so I don't think that's it. - Drivers for Nvidia.I'm hesitant to experiment with the video card drivers as it's just BS that has this issue, but I can look at that. Be sure you also have a patched DCS, with patch for correct language. The patch is DCS-BS_Patch_1.0.1c_EN.exe, so all present and correct.
majapahit Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) (overclocked to 3.2GHz) my guess it's your overclock set to f.i. 3.0Ghz (or stock) and see if it still crashes I run a Q9550@3.15Ghz on a Asus P5K board and found (to run FSX) I have to lock BIOS settings (mem) specifically AND UNDERclock my ASUS 8800GT OC (from 1900/660 > 1750/550) and all is well. Before this I had simular issues, bad graphics. took a while to figure this out, mt | VR goggles | Autopilot panel | Headtracker | TM HOTAS | G920 HOTAS | MS FFB 2 | Throttle Quadrants | 8600K | GTX 1080 | 64GB RAM| Win 10 x64 | Voicerecognition | 50" UHD TV monitor | 40" 1080p TV monitor | 2x 24" 1080p side monitors | 24" 1080p touchscreen |
