Be advised: This works ONLY for 32-bit versions of Vista/Win7!

If you do this on 64bit versions, you will be unable to start windows!

I know about a dozen people who tried this on 64bit and despite the article claiming that it might cause trouble, it locked all those people I know out of their OS who tried Godmode with 64bit.

Besides that's it's no real advantage. It's just collecting all shortcuts from different menus into a single collection. There is no hidden feature you can access this way.

I heard that somewhere as well. But I'm on 64bit. I'm still here. Not sure if the hangups are related to some application inside. But if the OS hangs by just created the shortcut, then I guess I'm lucky :smilewink:

Note as well, the options inside, some are very powerful. So true if you don’t know what you’re doing, you can easily say goodbye to your OS.

Can you share what you know on what crash the OS for 64bit users? I'm curious...

Thanks

Same here, I'm on 64bit and it works perfectly although I don't see the need for it. Nothing in there that I couldn't find anywhere else, and especially nothing in there that I use oftenly.

The only reports I read noted, that when enabling this switch on 64bit Vista/Win7 and rebooting, their windows crashed on startup. They either had a complete system integrity error and could not even successfully start up in safe mode unless they removed the entry via DOS or similar. Others reported a file access violation and a denied windows start, still being able to start in safe mode and revert the entry.

Well, that's the reports I read so far.

But please keep in mind, that generally people tend to complain when something goes wrong, but rarely come back and report something positive ;) - I think I will test it myself over the weekend.

Aha.. I never restarted while my GodMode-folder was there - that might be a reason to still stay cautious =)

So did you fried your OS?

I'm leaning that the users dont know what they are doing. I 64bit rebooted, no issues whats so ever....

It would be interesting to know where everyone put their GodMode-folder?
