deez Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 In the mission 'South Ossetia Pirates,' I always lose my right engine when trying to transit a mountain pass at about 3200M. Is this a function of high altitude operations, or is it a pre-planned failure that is part of the mission. I went through the manual and was unable to find anything that would lead to engine rollback at high altitudes.
mvsgas Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Could be caused by ice build up, damaging the engine. Make sure your engine anti-ice is on. Also turn on probe heat. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
EtherealN Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Also make sure to maintain 130km/h IAS (not too much more, not too much less) to ensure that your engines don't have to work harder than necessary. As long as you keep that and anti-ice (not de-ice) in mind 3200 meters is pretty easy to achieve. DarkStar Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 could you post some pics that shows the placement of these switches? I've read the manual but didn't really understand :P
sweinhart3 Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 both engine anti-ice and rotor anti-ice are on the overhead panel above your hud. also note that the engine anti-ice switch is 3 position for anti-ice/off/dust protection. Some people dont realize that and have it on dust protection. Intel i7 990X, 6GB DDR3, Nvidia GTX 470 x2 SLI, Win 7 x64 http://picasaweb.google.com/sweinhart
MTFDarkEagle Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Engage all anti-/de-icers in your start up of this mission, then you should be fine. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
