In the mission 'South Ossetia Pirates,' I always lose my right engine when trying to transit a mountain pass at about 3200M. Is this a function of high altitude operations, or is it a pre-planned failure that is part of the mission. I went through the manual and was unable to find anything that would lead to engine rollback at high altitudes.

Could be caused by ice build up, damaging the engine. Make sure your engine anti-ice is on. Also turn on probe heat.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Also make sure to maintain 130km/h IAS (not too much more, not too much less) to ensure that your engines don't have to work harder than necessary. As long as you keep that and anti-ice (not de-ice) in mind 3200 meters is pretty easy to achieve.

both engine anti-ice and rotor anti-ice are on the overhead panel above your hud. also note that the engine anti-ice switch is 3 position for anti-ice/off/dust protection. Some people dont realize that and have it on dust protection.

cheers mate
