Pilotasso Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Not Carlo KOPP related :D http://www.key.aero/view_news.asp?ID=1670&thisSection=military Great aviation news site. It reports the legacy F-18's readiness is less than 30% at this time and the F-111's have been pushed back into service. What do you think? .
tflash Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 It is perfectly possible that maintenance + upgrades and other issues severly limit the number of available aircraft. The important thing is whether you can generate the missions you need. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
4c Hajduk Veljko Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 I worked in Australia for six month. Australia is very sophisticated country, very capable of handling high tech stuff, including top of the line military technology. This article may reflect current situation where a series of bad events caused temporary reduction in fleet availability. Yet, there is no urgency for Australia to overspend and waste national treasury in fixing RAAF problems. I am sure, Australians will bring their F-18 fleet availability up in appropriate and timely manner. F-18 is a very good airplane.
