Frogfoot1606687865 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 After having one or two very strange loss of control incidents recently I have found the cause. When I accidently hit one of the cursor keys the cyclic stick goes to full deflection in that direction and stays there, not good. The keyboard assignments for cyclic are all blank in the options screen for both real mode and arcade (I cleared them myself as they were assigned to the cursor keys) and the axis assignments are set up correctly for my X52Pro. Does anyone know why hitting one of these keys should have such a strange effect? Does it happen on anyone elses setup. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling but the problem still persists. Its like having four auto destruct buttons on the keyboard. Help me Please... Frogfoot1606687865 Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 can anyone confirm that the cursor keys affect the cyclic, or am I the only one? MTFDarkEagle Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 You are veryveryveryvery sure the cursor keys arrent assigned? Further more: Dont expect an answer so quickly, some people have to work or have to go to school. Patience is your friend (also a lesson learned in the Shark) #edit: tried a different keyboard? Frogfoot1606687865 Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 Yes I am VERY sure, I have checked the settings in both 'real' and 'game' sections of the key assignment page. In fact if I assign the cursor keys to something else (Wingman radio comms) the problem goes away, however if I clear the assignments then the problem returns. Well at least I have found a work around. It would be interesting to see if anyone can reproduce the problem. Thanks anyway. MTFDarkEagle Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 try a different keyboard. Does the same thing happen in a different game? Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
Speed Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 IMO, it seems to me that BS has problem correctly interpretting inputs, especially with the keyboard. A couple of people in my squad get the "crazy Shkval" that becomes completely uncontrollable, RAPIDLY slews in random directions and will not lock on anything. My keyboard locks up when changing views. And problems like this. Maybe it's imagined, but considering other problems I've seen, I just don't think BS interprets keyboard inputs very well... I've seen that Rapid random Shkval too, I never figured out what caused it. But it hasn't happened to me in months now. Nate It's only happened to me once ever, I fixed it by beating on the keyboard on the keys that normally slew the skchvkal (I can never get the spelling right). After hitting on the keys that normally slew the shkval a couple dozen times, and noticed that all of a sudden, pressing those keys was pressing buttons on the datalink control panel (they hadn't done that before). Then seconds later, the Skhval started working normally again... Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility.
