dooom Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Campaign promo for LOFC2: Revanche. I hope the swift demise of the ka 50s is not indicative of our future online experience. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=50831 1 ASUS Tuf Gaming Pro x570 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @ 3.8 / XFX Radeon 6900 XT / 64 GB DDR4 3200 "This was not in the Manual I did not read", cried the Noob" - BMBM, WWIIOL
Boberro Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 What for duplicate threads ? ;] 1 Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
ScEBlack1 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Well I hope air to air will stick to there objectives and help clear the A2A fighters from the airspace and ground pounders can attack there objectives and other ground pounders, but, if it is anything like the online experience now were A2A fighters are flying super low in valleys then yes it will be disappointing to say the least for having KA-50 online with A2A. My 2 cents.
Speed Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 But there's no KA-50s in this campaign flyable, right? So I'll never play it anyway. Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility. Lucas_From_Hell Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 (edited) It's not as complex as some think. Fighter is told to clear the area to support attack flight = Ka-50 pilot has no trouble. Fighter is told to clear the area to protect ground unit = Ka-50 pilot is the target. EDIT: Accidentally clicked Post Quick Reply... So, as I was saying, if objective X must be destroyed by Red team and protected by Blue team, the Blue aircraft must keep any Red aircraft from getting even close to Objective X. You can't blame the fighter pilot for doing his job. If he's tasked with defending your target, you have to either face the threat or abort the mission. Next time, bring a fighter jock with you to make sure no one will bother :D In real life, it works like that. Fighters are superior to helicopters in air-to-air engagement. It's not supposed to happen, and it won't happen if you use the right tactics, but from the moment you are a threat to the success of his mission, you're a target as any other, be it an attack puke, fighter jock or an armed ventilator. Unfair? Yep. Life's unfair, so blame her instead of fighter pilots :music_whistling: Edited March 12, 2010 by Lucas_From_Hell
ScEBlack1 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Yes Lucas I dont blame them if that is the job, but, in LO there is alot of fighter jets simply flying very low in the valleys and taking out anything, mostly due to certain limitations which hopefully now will be resolved with 2.0.
dooom Posted March 12, 2010 Author Posted March 12, 2010 i for one am looking forward to it. i hope taht ED has the presence of mind to launch with a multiplay mission set at the ready to mitigate the frustration as we learn how to cooperate. Clear goals for player slots with some playtesting in beta would be great. else we risk ka50 frustration being high as we try to participate online with fighter jocks. even one coop mission developed and ready to go with launch would go a long way in showing us how new missions could be created.
