Skywall23 Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Hi, Yesterday I went to buy Brothers In Arms. I bought, and once I inserted it on my DVD-ROM the DVD wasnt readable. However, the problem is worse than I thought. I tried Deus Ex 2, and guess what? It wasnt readable as well. So its safe to assume that my DVD-reader doesnt read DVDs anymore. I would like to know why this happened and what should I do, In order to have the ability to read DVDs on my comnputer. I heared that StarForce busted these kind of hardware. I only installed one game with StarForce, which was the demo of 1.1. Please somebody tell what should I do. Is this a problem with my reader or StarForce is the responsible? And if its SF fault, what should I do? And if its not, I assume that I should buy a new reader right? Also, a strange thing happened to me. The DVD-ROM works after I turn on my computer after it is off some hours. This happened with my brother this morning. Please help. My DVD reader is 16x from LG.

Ironhand Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 FWIW, I have FC installed and both my DVD player and DVD burner have been working normally. I rebuilt my computer two days ago and formatted the hard drive. So my machine is clean and hasn't had time to becomes a wasteland of old drivers, competing codecs, etc. Your problem might possibly have something to do with Star Force, though. I just don't how. All I can say is that it currently has no ill effect on my machine. Not much help, I know...
