Marking posts "read"

When I read posts on other forums around the internet the posts stay “Unread” until i read them or mark them as read. This is not the case on the ED forums and it annoys me! Is it some settings on my account to switch off the “auto read” of posts? If not, can you change the forum settings to keep all posts unread unless read or marked read by the user?

Well it's kinda of weird for me too. I read a thread, but when I return to the forum root, it still shows as a thread in a subforum is unread, but it is already read.

I've found vbulletin to do that behaviour elsewhere too, not just here. Since the 'elsewhere' is a website I'm the admin of, I'm kind of stumped how to fix it myself even heh.
