hobbes57 Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Hi all, I have - Windows 7 64bit - a clean install of Flaming Cliffs 2.0 - a Saitek X52 (NOT Pro!) - the Saitek Profile Editor 6.6.6.9 and a problem: I cannot assign anything to the big horizontal rotary, the small vertixal rotary and the small slider on the throttle :( With a new, frewsh and clean Saitek profile, I go to the FC2.0 Options -> Axis page and try to assign the rotaries to slewing the radar cone left/right or up/down. Also, I'd like to map the small slider to Zoom. Once in the game, the don't do anything. Note that the X,YandZ axis of the stick work, as does the throttle. Why doesn't FC recognize the other axis here? Thanks for any help! Hobbes57
Mugenjin Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 would you mind upping a screenshot of your controls screen? does it actually say e.g. "JOY RY" under the X52 coloumn for e.g. radar vertical?
dragony Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 All axes on my X-52 work fine for me... Did you tried assigning them to proper aircraft, pressing "Add" and moving necessary control on the stick/throttle? WBR, =FV=BlackDragon. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
159th_Falcon Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 (edited) I had the same problem whit my X52 pro. And here's how i solved it using the SST profiler, not sure if its possible whit the non pro stick though. Give it a try. Open your profile. Scroll down to where the rotary you need is located, lets say rotary 1 Right Click the Rotary 1 box and you should get a number of options. Including one called "Directional Axis" set the rotary to this. Safe your profile, clear it from the profiler and load it again, if you don't do this the stick will still be using the old profile. (at least the pro works like that) Now go to the options menu in game again, select the plane you want and from the other drop down box select "axis" (might be a bit different cant remember exactly, its highlighted in blue though) Now double click the box where you want to assign Rotary 1 to. A pop up window should now appear, rotate rotary one fully a few times, the game should now recognize and assign it. You should see something appear along the lines of "RZ01" Not sure if this works for the slider though. But since the option for directional axis is there i suppose it does. ***EDIT*** slightly off-topic Make sure that in the Saitek columns there are NO button assignments in the game. Clear them all EXCEPT the ones that are set to the POV to look around, eg the View commands. If you leave button 8 for example assigned to landing gear, and you program that button to for example fire you cannon. funny things can happen, for example nothing. Or every time you fire the canon you retract/extend your landing gear........ hobbes57 Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 Problem solved - in fact, it did not even exist. I was editing the controls for the "Mig-29G" while the test mission I flew used a "MiG-29A". After setting the controls on the correct page, everything worked fine. This is probably an argument for having an "all aircraft" controls page though. Nevertheless, thanks for your input here! Hobbes57
Insanatrix Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I had this problem with my regular X52 and I made sure it was the right plane as it was the A-10A. What I did to fix it was just unplug the X52 from the usb port and plug it back in and somehow the rotaries worked after that. this was in W7 x64
