I thought about going for the new 890 chipset mobo but the asking price defeats the purpose of buying AMD.

So I've narrowed it down to these: GIGABYTE GA770T-USB3, ECS A785GM-AD3 and ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO. They all have a feature that will let you unlock cores, if the CPU coorporates, but the ECS cost a good 30 bucks less. My question is which one would you buy with your hard-earned money?

Thanks in advance...

I tend to prefer ASUS, but from my personal experience, both ASUS and Gigabyte are very reliable manufacturers. I have never hears of ECS though, maybe read some reviews like zakobi suggested?

heh. yeah. Yes, I've tried google. In fact, I spent a good few weeks reading up on hardware since I had been out of the loop for so long. However, I can't find a review on that particular Gigabyte mobo and there isn't much on that ECS either. Thanks anyway - already placed an order for the ASUS V-EVO.

I had just discovered overclockers.com and now I regret ordering the ASUS V-EVO. F!

in my experience, the last reliable ASUS motherboard was TX-97E :D

Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.

I first bought an ASUS motherboard in 2002/3 - still holding, stable as anything, RDRAM and all. I bought another a few years later, had to upgrade BIOS to use the CPU that's now stuck in it, but otherwise equally stable despite heavy use.

In short: I beg to differ. (And I'm not going to be swedishly humble about it, either. :P)

Judging from all the customers' reviews I've been reading, ASUS has got to be the best mobo out there at the moment for enthusiasts, for Intel and AMD, with GIGABYTE breathing down their necks.
