CVFSGoran_VU Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Hi there, i have FC2 with no mods, except I have made some changes on .cfg that I have found here on forum and reason is to get more FPS. I don't know when it was start to happaning, but I have notice it when one green box has past in front of me. Please see pictures. I have try to turn labels ON, so that I can see what vehicle is it, but that vehicle (and other that are not military, just some airport services vehicls) don't have label, only made with editor. Any ideas how to fix it? Goran. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
EtherealN Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I believe that looks like you've done something to the LOD's in the configuration that was a bit drastic - basically it seems to be loading that vehicle at the lowest LOD - meaning a box - that is intended for vehicles at very very long ranges where you would barely see them anyway. The solution is to revert the changes you made to the cfg. One of those changes almost certainly caused this. You can then make the changes one at a time again (remember to keep backups) to see to it that you do not cause this to happen again. CVFSGoran_VU Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 Hm, ok ... possible ... but how come that some vehicls are box, and some not? Also, all g. vehicls that I put in mission editor are normaly shown... I will try to go back with .cfg setup. I have made backup of original so it will be easy to get default...but then I need to change items one by one... Thanks! Goran. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
EtherealN Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I believe different vehicles have different variables in the cfg. AustinN360 Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Taken from here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=51339 Hey guys. I had a minor problem with Yoda's ModelLOD.txt tweak: and I had a look at the text file again and noticed that there are 2 sets of values for each object and that with Yoda's figure of 5000 interfered with the lod of some of the vehicles as it changed the second value to either the same value of the first or smaller. I have changed this and made the first value smaller than the second (1000 and 5000 respectively) and this has solved the issue. Attached is my the file I edited and you add replace yours with this if you have the same issue's! Route Out

Any ideas how to fix it? Probably lodMult = 1.5; - as it says for military vehicles, with 0.5 their a box beyond 400m, at 1.5 its over 4km they change. ShadowVonChadwick Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 (edited) I believe different vehicles have different variables in the cfg. I have noticed many objects seem to have "internal" variables that are used along with the parameters we play with in config files. eg: small buildings, roofs of large buildings, some ships docked at ports. They fade in or popup at different distances.
