Understanding DCS evolution line:

To be clear... If I have DCS A-10 AND DCS Black Shark, assuming same or different scenario, can I...

1) use the Ka-50 in different scenario of A-10?, within A-10 world?

2) use the Ka-50 in the same scenario (Georgia) with the Graphic and world improvement of A-10? (like a patch?)

To understand if the different sims will be only different software online compatible (like FC2 and BS soon), or if they will be same software continously build up: than I can choose to fly BS having all the new world&graphic features of A-10 if I buy it?

Thanks in advance...

The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.

I recall seeing a comment from ED concerning whether or not the new A-10C sim would be online compatible with BS and/or FC2 and their response was just that it was too early yet to say how A-10C would fit into that.

I would think the intent would be that A-10C would be online compatible with BS and FC2. They're having to patch BS to make that work so who knows, maybe it'll also be a post-release patch for FC2/BS and/or A-10.

I think its the same evolving engine and so there's a chance that with a new sim, the prior renditions have to get updated to match.

The intent as far as I can recall is that when the A-10 is released the base engine of BS gets upgraded for free, in order to maintain compatibility. Much the same way the BS will use the newer version of TFCSE from FC2 after the compatibility patch.

BS and Warthog WILL be compatible, but it hasn't been decided whether FC2 will be too, as it is not part of the DCS product line and is a dead end with regards to UBI.
