wilbur81 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 What happened, in FC 2.0, to the "shift" key accelerating camera panning and zooming? i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC
104th_Crunch Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I don't mind that it is gone. In FC2 multiplayer, the F10 airport view still works. If we still had the FC1 shift key acceleration one could zoom around the map at high speed and gain an advantage. Now you can't do that anymore and you only have a slow panning.
SFJackBauer Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 On my PC, right shift works as the accelerator key.

What are you talking about? You didn't answer my question and the acceleration zoom/pan does not give anyone an advantage. I used that feature constantly when making missions and videos. Bummer that its gone. i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC
104th_Crunch Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Sorry, I meant for multiplayer. Singleplayer yes, it would be nice to have back. I don't know why it is gone.

It's almost like maybe it was just overlooked. You can sort of get around this by using the scroll rotator on your mouse, but it isn't nearly as effective. That old feature made positioning the camera anywhere in the world so easy for fly-by's and such. Maybe the patch will bring it back i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC
LawnDart Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Works for me if I press and hold R-shift first, then * (however, it only works forward, not backwards). What does the Controller window call the command and in what category is it placed? (i.e. views, views extended, etc.) i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC
LawnDart Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Oh, I never looked... (and I'm not on a FC2 puter ATM so I can't check), but it was the same as FC1 for me. I just had to make sure to press R-shift first. It wouldn't work if you press * first then R-shift... Hey LawnDart, I found it...sneakily called "zoom in" and "zoom out." :-) And the zoom out does allow you to go backward. I'm glad this wasn't ditched. i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC
