BrzI Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 FC2 with patch applied... Stock mission "Long Day" 3 out of 4 takeoffs blow an engine on takeoff. I use 100% thrust and start pulling back at 280 kmh with full flaps down. Am I missing something ? :helpsmilie: Thanks

EtherealN Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Well, he's not actually missing the birds... >.> But well, 3 out of 4 is a bit on the unlucky side if it's birds. Got a track file of this happening, BrzI? 159th_Viper Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 In the Mission Options, uncheck 'Game Flight Mode' and 'Game Avionics Mode' and try again :) Downloaded your Track, took control in cockpit and at 280km/h, Engine Blew as per your experience. Opened track in Editor, unchecked as above and took control again and took off no problem. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? BrzI Posted May 8, 2010 Author Posted May 8, 2010 Thanks. Seems to work. What is perplexing is that the mission started in 'Game Avionics Mode' (the round SA display in top right-hand corner). I only fly with full options on and the only way to get rid of that was to actually CHECK the two boxes. Almost looks like in inverse logical switch. Anyway, it is fixed now. Thanks for the help. Finished the mission successfully. Trick was to get the wingman to go for Air Defenses around the Canadian Leopards, then have him pick out the Leopards one by one. He survived and we cleared the whole battlefield. Lesson in wingman management :). Cheerio

BrzI Posted May 8, 2010 Author Posted May 8, 2010 How many people do you think actually fly the Su25 as opposed to the other aircraft ? I was always a fan of the Su-33 - specially in previous Flanker versions when I could carry antiradar and fire-and-forget pinpoint strike missiles :-) Wish some of that would come back :-) Nothing beats killing off a couple of interceptors, then getting rid of Air Defenses and then finally going for a pinpoint strike - all in one package....Miss those old days...unrealistic or not :-)
159th_Viper Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 How many people do you think actually fly the Su25 as opposed to the other aircraft ? Good Question! Myself - Stumbled onto LockOn in 2006 and apart from the occasional A-10 sortie, have been flying the T-Toad exclusively ever since. EtherealN Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I flew (almost) exclusively T-toad in FC1.1. Haven't done so in FC2 yet except for a small practice run here and there to feel the awesome might of the AFM since I've been largely busy learning how to use the Eagle. The Frog and Toad flight models really are an attraction on their own though so I suspect they are relatively common choices. EvilBivol-1 Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 A few years a go I had a nice little coop for myself and friends where we were all flying Su-25Ts, but some dedicated to SEAD with Kh-58s and Vikhrs and others dedicated to primary target attack with bombs and rockets. Was good teamplay. If more people were available, could throw in enemy CAP/intercept flights and a couple of guys in Su-27s to sweep ahead and fly top cover. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy.
