Sawamura Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Hi, for some time now, i noticed while checking my fps, an unwanted lock on 30 fps. Situation: I fly 1000 meters over some fields, cities and villages. If i look into an direction, where the mountains are, i have my 55 - 60 fps. If i take an look into the direction of an city or vilagge, the fps drop to 30. Not 29 or 31, exactly to 30. Even though, i cant see the buildings yet, the fps drop around 50 %. Frazer gave me some tips about my Nvidia settings(i have an nvidia 260 GTX with newest driver) but that didnt help. We may think, its an problem with the graphics card. This kinda issue pushes me down on many fps. Would be very great to fix that. :book: Is there maybe someone, who suffered with the same problem? Thanks in advance for any reply. :)
DoctorStrop Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Try v sync in nVidia control panel for simulator.exe Windows 10 64bit, Intel i7 6700K, 32GB Corsair 2400Mhz, 970 NVMe 500Gb SSD, GeForce 2080 super, HP Reverb, VKB GF PRO, Thrustmaster Warthog throttle, Thrustmaster Pendular rudders, Windows + DCS  My youtube channel
Sawamura Posted May 13, 2010 Author Posted May 13, 2010 Thanks for your very quick reply. Automatic on, automatic off, let the program decide, didnt change anything.
DoctorStrop Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 The only other suggestion would be to make sure you have 1.21 patch installed Windows 10 64bit, Intel i7 6700K, 32GB Corsair 2400Mhz, 970 NVMe 500Gb SSD, GeForce 2080 super, HP Reverb, VKB GF PRO, Thrustmaster Warthog throttle, Thrustmaster Pendular rudders, Windows + DCS  My youtube channel

Nate--IRL-- Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 (edited) Try D3Doverrider, this will enable triple buffering that should eliminate this. Nate Edit:- D3Doverrider is not standalone it is installed as part of Rivatuner... http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=rivatuner Edited May 13, 2010 by Nate--IRL-- Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Sawamura Posted May 13, 2010 Author Posted May 13, 2010 I did enable it in my nvidia settings (global and then also again on the simulator.exe) but no change. Could it be, that it has no effect and i must download this 3doverwriter tool?
Nate--IRL-- Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 In the Nvidia panel, Triple Buffering only refers to OpenGL not DirectX. You must use D3Doverrider if you wish to enable tripple-buffering in DirectX games such as DCS and Lock On. Sawamura Posted May 13, 2010 Author Posted May 13, 2010 For today night, i dont want to download this tool, which engages my system and if that would not work, i dont want have trouble to erase it afterwards. I will try that tomorrow, in case no other solution can fix this problem. Thanks for the advise. If there are other suggestions, im all ear. :)
Sawamura Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 Problem solved. Kinda a little mistake from my side. I thought, i had fullscreen enabled, cause i always had fullscreen. I just saw, that the fullscreen was disabeled. I enabled it an the fps are far over 30 on the cities. :) Thanks a lot everyone for your help and support.
