Knowing Dragon's mods, use Modman which is a mod manager.

Just out of curiosity is the Betty language (or wingman for that matter) dependent on your logbook nationality or your mission-faction nationality?

It depends on your nationality for that particular mission. I.e, if you have an American pilot in your logbook, but you are playing as Russian (or Ukrainian even) in the mission, then your languages will be in Russian.

I've copied over all the english specchfiles over to the russian folders, but I can't find an english version of the Almaz-folder. Any workaround for that ?

Well, I'm an oldfashioned kind of guy, who likes to do it all by hand, instead of using some wimpy mod :smilewink:.

So, can you point me in the right direction to solve that little problem ?

I don't understand your problem.

Backup your original folders and copy / paste the folders of the mod.

 

English Betty BLUE:

Sounds\speech\english\almaz

 

English Betty RED:

Sounds\speech\russian\almaz

Sounds\speech\russian\ground_service

Thanks for replying.

My problem is that the soundfiles in the English Almaz folder are Russian. When I doubleclick them I hear a Russian voice. So, in the helicoptre Betty is still talking Russian too me. All the other folders were English, except Almaz.

Mebbe I screwed up somewhere.

Could you perhaps send me a copy of the English Almaz folder ? I see it's about 1,5 MB, so that's not too big.

You would help me out big time.

You simply have to download the two mods, unzip it, take the folders (including all english soundfiles) and copy&paste them!!!

A question, please ... is it possible to add to your English Betty mods to include Wingman, AWACS, and Tower transmissions? In other words, to have only English transmissions and responses regardless of coalition?

 

I tried just swapping out the folders but it seems ED has treated the RU and EN responses differently. There are differing numbers of files in corresponding folders and ED has provided a number of different voices for the RU tower controllers but only one for the EN controller. There are other difference in the AWACS and maybe other speech folders.

 

When I tried a one-for-one swap of folders (copy EN speech files into the RU speech file folders) I get mixed results. The transmission of my pilot's voice is in English (all this is in an RU coalition) but the tower transmissions are not there at all (just a click) and the Wingman/AWACS transmissions are still in Russian. I tried making multiple copies of the EN tower speech files to duplicate what is in the RU folder (Voice1, Voice2, ...) but that didn't seem to make a difference.

 

I was wondering if you had looked at this and have any ideas.

Thanks for your work dragon. I simply don't understand why ED made an English cockpit, but then make the ekran, wingmen and tower speak Russian :huh:
