Intercom on and SPU-9 set to Ground phone? Of course you can have the engines/rotors stopped and just open the door.

If it's mission-dependent then it's likely that the facility you're at in the mission isn't capable to satisfy the request. Hopefully ED programmed it such that if there's no fuel truck around your crew chief would let you know "Sorry, no fuel available." but I'm not sure they did.

There is a list of prerequisite equipment within X radius for certain services.

Post a track!

The GUI manual defines the equipment required to support refueling, rearming, ground electrical power, and repair at FARPs.

It also indicates the distance these items need to be from the FARP to be effective.

There's a whole PDF (dcs-bs_gui_manual_eng.pdf) that deals with things like mission editor, network GUI, etc. It's a sister to the flight manual.

Like other gents have said before:

Is the radio set to Ground?

If you supply a track file of this behaviour, we would be able to analyze it very easily.

You should check Ka50's Pilot Manual, section 8-18 (page 354)

But, most probably you were looking for this:

It can depend on the facilities / vehicles that are at the landing point..

If a FARP, then there must be several vehicles for comms and re-fuelling.

Most airfields (if not all?) are allready equiped with what is required.

And so,

the things to check are....do you have the radio set to Gnd (english) or HON (russian).

Are you at a farp?.. if yes, are the necessary vehicles there for comms and refuelling?

Do you have your radio's turned on? (you must have the Radios powered to hear any responce from the ground crew)... to do so, enable your batteries, and switch on the radio stack (several switches on the lower right hand wall near front).

As others have suggested, if the issue continues, please post a track.. it's a complicated Sim, and many many variables are at play...a track is the surest way to get all the info so we can help you.

You post a track through clicking the "Go Advanced" button below the Quick Reply field, then click the paperclip icon in the toolset and you'll be given a dialog box to upload a file. It will then be attached to the post you are writing.

What's needed in it would simply be a startup where the issue you are experiencing is happening. This is the easiest way to ensure that there is no oversight, and we are also able to take control of the flight to look around the surroundings to see which vehicles are present and if they are close enough to the FARP centrepoint to be effective.

The biggest teller of what's going on is try the experiment in different missions. If it works in an ED-made mission like Shooting Range but not in another mission...behavior is clearly-mission dependent, yes?

filtonflyer, do you get the menu at all?

The menu where you can choose F10 for ground crew?

If not: Check your keyboard-assignments in the options.

-> open single player

-> options

-> key assignments/bindings

-> radio comm

-> edit key assignment

-> press the desired radio comm menu key

-> save options

-> start mission

-> let the helicopter cold & dark (engines and APU OFF) with door open (RCTRL+C is for close/open door)

---> explanation: with engines & apu off and door open you are able to communicate with the ground crew regardless if radio intercom-system is on/off/correctly set. It is the simulation of just talking to them out of your open door instead of any radio-system.

-> press radio comm menu key as assigned in the steps above

In case of success the radio comm menu should appear where "F10" is ground crew.

I have the problem that certain keys from my keyboard DCS recognizes as some others. That's why I have to assign some keys in the options manually. One of the keys is the radio menu, an other is the key for chat. There some more. You have to try and error to find out which keys are working by default and which are not.
