Any reason why the white line (about 1cm on the screen) is STILL visible when inside the cockpit? I haven't played the game for a while so can't find the fix. Can someone please link me to it? And why wasn't this fixed in the patch (let alone release)

Because eliminating the issue would require a very drastic re-write of the graphics engine. The "fix" has some side-effects that make it undesirable as a standard "feature".

I'm sorry, but I'm really ... exhausted about it.

At least, is there a way to limit it?

I think a payware patch for Ka-50 will be welcomed, so to solve this and other drastic bugs or to refine or to implement some features of Ka-50 module.

Whit time DCS modules will be more realistic and complex, but I hope ED don't forget its first product (Ka-50), so to maintain it at noble quality, and not only for gameplay compatibility.

Excuse me, is't possible to obtain an explanatory reply about it?

Thank in advance.

best regards.

Hang on, I'll try to find the old thread about the workaround/fix.

Regarding updates, rest assured that ED does know about this and does want to fix it, but the best way to do so will be in conjunction with otherwise planned graphics engine updates/rewrites. Whether those would then get backwards-applied to DCS:BS is unknown, but not impossible. Depends on how much development work would go into it. It's not wholly impossible though - remember that the 1.0.2 patch included a complete and total replacement of the sound engine developed with FC2.

Found it - in the FAQ. ;)

Q: I'm seeing a white/yellow line on the ground when viewing from inside the cockpit.

A: This is an LOD-related issue in the graphics engine and cannot be fixed. A "home remedy" is possible by changing the LOD distance values in the configuration files, but this will affect the entire graphics engine and is not a recommended solution.

To change the LOD values, open \...\Config\graphics.cfg and change the LOD lines as follows:

near_clip = 0.1;
middle_clip = 1;

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT NOTE:

Do not use regular windows notepad. Do not use wordpad. Instead, use Notepad++, a free and open-source code editor (google for it).

Also, always take backups before editing files.
